The recipe for sausage rice with soy sauce is a must-have when you don't really have time to cook yet still want to enjoy a tasty meal. It can be adjusted for seasoning and garnishing to suit your taste and preferences. It's easy as ABC even in a rush ! Just opt for the garlic sausage or the lemongrass version. Ingredients :
Ingredients in red are optional or can be substituted
400g jasmine or glutinous rice
garlic or lemongrass sausages
Dried shrimps
Chives
Soy sauce
fried onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
civet oil or spring onion
Start by washing the rice 2 or 3 times with clear water. Next, boil the equivalent of your rice dose in water in a saucepan or use a rice cooker if you have one. After rinsing the rice several times, drain it and add half a teaspoon of salt if you wish. Pour the rice into the pan, cover it and cook over medium heat for 13 minutes. Meanwhile, soak the dried shrimps in a bowl of warm water (optional) and slice the sausages into thin rounds. After 13 minutes of cooking, stir the rice and add the sausage slices and dried shrimps. Cover the pan once more and cook for another 8 minutes on a low heat to give the rice a nice juicy and meaty flavour.
Once cooked, serve on a plate or in a bowl, add the chives, green onions, fried onions and a few drops of soy sauce on top as you like.
